Oversee the processing of payments across multiple bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurate and completed on time.
Manage operational banking activities, including addressing day-to-day issues and ensuring smooth banking processes.
Reconcile intercompany balances and prepare debit notes for expense recovery from group companies, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate accounting of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation entries.
Oversee petty cash management, ensuring timely replenishments and accurate record-keeping.
Ensure accurate cost allocations during month-end closing to facilitate detailed financial reporting.
Handle debtor management, following up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely collections and reducing overdue payments.
Manage credit control, including KYC/KYV verification and maintaining compliance records.
Take responsibility for the financial aspects of the holding company, including preparing financial statements, conducting bank reconciliations, and liaising with auditors and tax consultants.
Provide ad-hoc reports and support management with financial analysis, forecasts, and decision-making.
Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements (e.g., VAT, income tax, and other filings) and assist with external audits.
Play a key role in process improvements within the finance department, identifying areas for efficiency and automation.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CA Sri Lanka) is a pre-requiste.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry.
Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Gensoft, SAP), with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis along with Word and Power point.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial records and reports.
Knowledge of taxation laws, audit requirements, and compliance best practices is an advantage.
Proven experience in cash management, managing accounts receivable/payable, and handling bank reconciliations.
Experience in preparing financial statements and liaising with external auditors.
Familiarity with intercompany transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
