Job duties

• Perform brickwork, blockwork and stonework according to construction requirements.
• Prepare and apply cement, mortar, concrete and other construction materials.
• Construct and repair walls, partitions, foundations and other masonry structures.
• Plaster and finish walls, ceilings and other surfaces as required.
• Read and follow basic construction drawings, measurements and instructions.
• Set out work areas and ensure accurate measurements and proper alignment.
• Repair cracks, damaged walls, floors and other masonry structures.
• Assist with concrete mixing, laying and finishing work.
• Cut and shape bricks, blocks and other materials using appropriate tools.
• Ensure proper levels, dimensions and finishing of completed work.
• Maintain and safely use masonry tools, equipment and materials.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other construction workers to complete assigned tasks.
• Report material requirements, structural issues or other problems to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned work within the required timeframe and quality standards.

Requirements

• Male
• Age below 50
• Previous experience as a Mason or in a similar construction role.
• Good knowledge of brickwork, blockwork, plastering and concrete work.
• Ability to mix and use cement, mortar and other construction materials.
• Ability to take measurements and follow construction instructions.
• Good knowledge of masonry tools and equipment.
• Good attention to detail and workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and demanding conditions.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete work on time.
