Job Duties 

• Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
• Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
• Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
• Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
• Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
• Preparing procurement reports.

Requirements 

• Electrical Engineering (BSc/NDT) from a recognized University and Professional Qualification in Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management from the ISMM or equivalent. Being partly qualified in CIMA / Charted Accounting will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Electrical / Construction / Hardware products with atleast 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication & the ability to deal with relevant Public, Non-Public & Statutory Bodies, effectively.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a must.
• Proficiency in MS Office package is essential.   
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English & Sinhala is essential. Ability to converse in Tamil would be an advantage.
• Exceptional analytical and presentation skills with attention to detail.
