Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
Preparing procurement reports.
Requirements
Electrical Engineering (BSc/NDT) from a recognized University and Professional Qualification in Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management from the ISMM or equivalent. Being partly qualified in CIMA / Charted Accounting will be an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Electrical / Construction / Hardware products with atleast 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
Exceptional interpersonal communication & the ability to deal with relevant Public, Non-Public & Statutory Bodies, effectively.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a must.
Proficiency in MS Office package is essential.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English & Sinhala is essential. Ability to converse in Tamil would be an advantage.
